这是一个关于大城市小市民、过去与现在、笑中有泪的故事七十年代，哈公与石坚两结拜兄弟为帮助七十二家房客免遭逼迁，以及营救惨被逼婚的小桃红，同心合力与房客们智退了太子炳和包租婆。雨过天晴，两兄弟同时对深爱的小桃红求婚，小桃红难以抉择，只好以投掷银币决定终身幸福。最后，小桃红下嫁于哈公。
